RSS is the shortened form of Really Simple Syndication and is a method of taking content and syndicating it out to various sites. Originally it was primarily aimed at newsfeeds and providing content from news sites to other sites.

Like many other technologies, it has been hi-jacked by Internet Marketers who have found this is an excellent way to get backlinks. It enables you to distribute your content to hundreds of other websites with a click of a button, which in turn will improve your site in the search engine results.

To be able to use RSS syndication, you have to have an RSS feed from your site. The most effective way to do this is to use WordPress when creating your site. It is possible to translate a static HTML site into an RSS feed. This usually involves manually creating and submitting files. You can find websites which will do this conversion automatically.

Once you have an RSS feed you need to find some places to submit it.

You are looking for two types of site.

Firstly you are looking for RSS directories. A quick Google will bring up plenty of directories you can use. There are software tools available to purchase which will automate the submission process for you.

Once you have discovered your directories you want to submit your RSS feeds to them. Manually it isn’t the fastest process, but it can be outsourced. Prepare your keywords, title and description in advance.

It is often worth using different descriptions, titles and keywords to ensure each submission is unique. The jury is out on what difference this makes, but it does appear to have some effect.

You must. The reason is you don’t want to submit the same site more than once. Plus, you are may want to submit other sites in the future.

The second type of site is the RSS Aggregator. This takes multiple RSS feeds and combines then into a single feed or webpage. You can then submit this single feed to the RSS directories.

This technology is useful to mix up your RSS feeds on a topic with news feeds. You can often get more content and/or authority from this.

You can also get RSS feeds from sites such as Squidoo These can also be submitted to RSS directories and aggregators.

Each time you update your web site, your RSS feed will be updated. If you are regularly adding new content, you will find it very quickly syndicated to numerous web sites.

RSS feeds are a fantastic way to gain other backlinks and to assist your sites in ranking for their keywords. Use them, enjoy them and see the links flooding in pick up.

Everyone always want to know the best approaches to submitting articles for the quickest results. Which approaches are the quickest and most effective?

To start with, you can submit your articles to the grandpa of all article directories, EzineArticles. It has got a status of being the top article directory in town. It is loved by marketers and by readers and most importantly, by Google.

Some marketers find themselves getting annoyed due to the strict submissions guidelines and long time it can take for approval.

You can easily get your articles accepted by following to their rules.

When your articles are accepted by EzineArticles you immediately get benefits from it. Articles accepted by this directory tend to rank well in Google, even without any backlinks pointing to them.

Add in a few backlinks and you will find your articles ranking well for keywords. Quite often you don’t even need any backlinks for your articles to rank well.

Once your article has been published you can do some easy backlinking to it to help it rank highly in the search engines.

Firstly, take your EzineArticle author RSS feed and submit it to RSS directories. You can do it manually or use a tool. If you are doing it by hand, just pick the top ten directories in a Google search and that will be good enough for now. You can always submit to more later on, so make sure you keep track of which ones you have added your feed to.

You can notify numerous sites about your new article using one of the many available ping services. You will give EzineArticles some benefit, but it will also help your article.

You can also social bookmark your article. You can either use a tool or do it yourself. A well written article could be submitted to Digg or Stumbleupon to get further links and traffic.

There are many other article directories you might use, but none of them are as effective as EzineArticles. Google Knoll is currently very popular with marketers. So far though, these are not appearing to be ranking as well as Ezinearticles, but it is a fine technique to get the Google to notice your sites.

You should probably only submit manually to ther other few or so big article directories. Most of the rest get so little traffic and are only worth it for the backlink. For that reason you should make sure these submissions are outsourced or automated.

If you are marketing with articles then you need to ensure they are on Ezinearticles for the best visitors. Do some simple backlinking to your article and you you will get traffic as your article ranks in the search engines.
